Finally a video that explains it clearly. I had no idea that you needed a special foot… no wonder why I thought this stitch was so difficult! I’d been trying to sew it freehand.

No, its absolutely normal…………

hartocuteify November 2, 2011 at 10:09 pm

I didn’t need to use a “blind hem foot “I just used my regular foot and switched my stitch to a blind hem stitching………..

After struggling to understand the directions in my manual, I turned to the internet. Several videos and how-to’s later, I found yours… and I hemmed my military dress pants in less than 30min! Most of the time was pulling out the old hem and prepping. A+++++++ for a clear and easy to follow video! THANKS!

Thanks for posting this video. I read the instructions in my sewing machine manual, but just could not picture how to turn under the hem. Thanks for the clear, concise instructions. My first attempt was a success!

@mikye7373 why should it be? it’s just a different type of construction.

mstennille83 November 3, 2011 at 1:37 am

@mikye7373 LOL no it’s not. I’m a sewing instructor and I’ve had several men in my classes. It’s a great skill to know and actually from my experience, men are GREAT at sewing! Always very precise and learn very quickly. :-)

Is it gay for a man to want to sew?

I am taking a class at the local college at night for sewing window treatments and when she showed us blind hem I didn’t get it BUT when I watched your video I DID.

Just finished my first ever lined curtain. This video helps a lot! Thank you very much!!!

poetryme1 November 3, 2011 at 4:42 am

Love the video. Question: I have a Singer machine. If I use the blind stitch foot, what stitch setting would I use to get the blind stitch?

Thanks.

@atlast23 Hi, i am here to ask and invite you…
Do you have a jeans that loves and wanna put it today but it’s so bigger and ugly…
What you will do?

Look my last video, Trick – Your jeans got bigger? Don’t worry! Decrease without sewing.
